The Whipping Willow Association was founded in 2001. The Board of Directors consists of Founder/President Sijo Antwione Alferos, Vice-President Tom Georgion and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Sandy Amason.

BOARD MEMBERS
The Whipping Willow Association governing structure is set up into three groups, the Board of Directors, the Senior Board of Advisors, and the Board of Advisors. As per our by-laws each group must have a minimum of three members and must always consist of an odd number of members.
The odd number of groups and members in a group helps to eliminate any ties in the event of a vote. The primary day to day operation is governed by the Board of Directors, utilizing the vast knowledge and experience of the two groups of advisors for consultation on the future direction of the association.

THE GATHERINGS
Four times a year, every year, we gather as a family to share and learn from one another without the burden of ego, politics or any of the other issues that plague our community. To quote our Mission Statement, we “embrace our martial arts brethren and endeavor to seek out similarities while learning to respect the differences in our arts.” Each Gathering is unique unto themselves and explore different aspects of our training.
